Le Coste
Rooted deeply in the province of Florence, Azienda Vitinicola Le Coste is defined by its historic farms, the crown jewel being the Rufina Farm. Purchased by Antonio Grati in 1954, this estate spans 85 hectares, featuring 5 hectares of meticulously cultivated vineyards. Here, traditional Tuscan varietals like Sangiovese, Canaiolo Nero, Trebbiano Toscano, Malvasia del Chianti, and Colorino are grown alongside recent additions of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
The Rufina terroir is distinguished by its exceptionally mild, non-humid microclimate. Benefiting from predominantly sandy soils and brilliant southern exposure, the grapes reach superb ripeness, resulting in vibrant wines with excellent alcoholic structure and aromatic concentration. Though drier years naturally yield smaller crops, the quality remains consistently outstanding.
Coupled with the family's historic Reggello farm โ dating back to an ancient monk settlement and characterized by clay-resinous soils โ Le Coste perfectly captures the timeless elegance, agricultural authenticity, and sun-soaked resilience of the Chianti region.
