Tasting Notes
First produced in 1986, Radici Taurasi is Mastroberardino's flagship Aglianico from the upper part of the Montemarano vineyard at 550m elevation. After long maceration and 30 months in Slavonian and French oak, plus 40+ months in bottle, the wine offers complex aromas of pencil shavings, violet, tobacco, and dark berry fruit. The palate is full-bodied with firm but creamy tannins, ripe black cherry, raspberry coulis, chocolate, iron, graphite, spice, and tobacco — 92 Wine Enthusiast, 92 James Suckling.
