Louis Violland
Founded in 1844 by Lรฉon Louis-Violland, this historic wine house stands as one of the oldest and most enduring in Burgundy. Originally housed in 12th- and 13th-century buildings in the center of Beaune, the maison utilized its magnificent ancient cellars to mature its fine wines. In 1996, Louis Violland became part of the Compagnie des Vins d'Autrefois, which proudly carries the founder's legacy forward today.
The winemaking philosophy at Louis Violland remains deeply rooted in traditional Burgundian principles, eschewing overly technical interventions in favor of crafting living wines that authentically express their origins. With a delicate touch, the winemakers carefully extract the colors, aromas, and tannins necessary to represent the very best of Burgundy's noble grape varieties and unique terroirs.
